In Phase 1, NERDIC effectively demonstrated that because of their geographical presence and history, the six New England states are uniquely positioned to work collaboratively, and boost cross border cooperation, support and assistance for the defense industry.
NERDIC helps stimulate cooperation between state and region-wide entities. This also allows NERDIC to identify and address high priority regional concerns and needs, from a collaborative perspective. This has been demonstrated in the industry identification of the need for regional solutions to workforce and tackling technology upskilling.
Cross-border problem solving is encouraged through NERDIC, which can lead to significant efficiencies and the ability to pool resources to address opportunities that could otherwise be out-of-reach to an individual state.
As NERDIC evolves, it will continue to respond to industry needs in the New England region.
As new Industry 4.0 technologies develop, workforce needs increase and cybersecurity requirements rise, NERDIC will work with industry to meet these increasing demands.
